Spelling was phonenetic until the late nineteenth century and may change with every clerk. There are some very idiosyncratic spellings of traditional forenames in the Langton Herring registers. [X] denotes the bride, groom or witness signed with a mark.
As Langton Herring was a small parish, there are some years with no marriages. These entries are taken from 2 registers that record marriages 1681-1753 and 1758-1808. There appear to have been no marriages celebrated 1754-1757.
